BIOGRAPHY

Eduan Steenkamp is originally from a small town in the Northern Cape of South-Africa called Kakamas.  He started playing saxophone at Kakamas Music Centre from an early age and completed his UNISA grade 8 in classical saxophone and UNISA grade 6 in Music theory. 

 

After he matriculated he went to study audio engineering at CAE College of Audio Engineering and also completed a videography course at the same college.  After his studies at CAE he moved on to North West University Potchefstroom and completed a 2 year diploma in music under the leadership of Karen Devroop.He also played in various bands during his studies; NWU Jazz Band, "Buzzin" and NWU Wind Ensemble.  Mostly Eduan focused on his solo performances at weddings and small to medium venues and restaurants.

 

During this time Eduan also worked as a sound engineer and videographer in Potchefstroom and the surrounding areas. 

 

Eduan finished his B.Ed. degree in November 2016 and majored in Music, English and Geography.  His plans are to teach, make music, travel  and enjoy life to its fullest.
